Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. Please read our cancellation and refund policy carefully before booking.

Cancellation Charges

Days Before Departure Cancellation Charge
30+ days before departure 10% of total cost
15–29 days before departure 25% of total cost
7–14 days before departure 50% of total cost
3–6 days before departure 75% of total cost
Less than 3 days / No show 100% — No Refund

Helicopter Packages

Helicopter packages have stricter cancellation terms due to pre-booked slots with helicopter operators:

  • 30+ days: 25% cancellation charge
  • 15–29 days: 50% cancellation charge
  • Less than 15 days: 100% — No Refund
  • Weather-related delays/cancellations by helicopter operator: Full refund or rescheduling

Rescheduling

  • Rescheduling is allowed once without charge if requested 15+ days before departure.
  • Rescheduling within 15 days of departure will incur a rescheduling fee of 10% of the package cost.
  • New travel date must be within the same season (subject to availability).

Force Majeure

In case of cancellation due to natural disasters, extreme weather, government orders, temple closures, or other force majeure events:

  • Dev Yatra will offer full credit for future travel or reschedule at no charge.
  • Actual refunds may be subject to deductions for non-recoverable costs already paid to vendors.

Refund Process

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 7–14 working days .
  • Refunds are made to the original payment method (bank transfer or UPI).
  • Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email or WhatsApp.

Q. How do I cancel my Dev Yatra booking?
To cancel your booking, contact us via WhatsApp at +91-8057146497 or email at dev.yatra.chardham@gmail.com with your booking reference number and reason for cancellation. Our team will process your cancellation request and confirm the applicable refund amount within 24 hours based on our cancellation policy.
Q. Will I get a full refund if I cancel due to a natural disaster?
In the event of a natural disaster, government-mandated closures, landslides, road blockages or temple closures by the Uttarakhand government, Dev Yatra offers full rescheduling to alternate dates at no extra cost. Refunds in such force majeure cases are evaluated individually. We prioritize rescheduling to ensure you complete your yatra safely.
Q. What if I need to change my travel dates instead of cancelling?
Date changes are allowed subject to availability. If you need to reschedule, contact us at least 10 days before your original departure date. Rescheduling within the same season is usually done without penalty. Changes made less than 7 days before departure may incur a rescheduling fee depending on hotel and vehicle availability.
Q. How long does the refund take to process?
Refunds are processed within 7–10 working days from the date of cancellation confirmation. The amount is returned via the same payment method used at the time of booking — bank transfer, UPI or cheque. Please share your bank account details when requesting the refund. Note that bank processing times may vary.
Q. Is travel insurance recommended?
Yes, Dev Yatra strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance before your yatra. Travel insurance covers trip cancellation, medical emergencies, lost baggage and evacuation costs. This is especially important for Char Dham and high-altitude treks where weather can be unpredictable. Insurance is not included in our packages and must be purchased separately by the traveller.

Important Notes

Dev Yatra strongly recommends purchasing travel insurance before your yatra or tour. Travel insurance provides coverage for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, helicopter evacuation, lost baggage and other unforeseen events — especially important for Char Dham Yatra and high-altitude treks.

For Char Dham Yatra, weather-related disruptions are common during monsoon and early/late season. Government mandated closures due to weather or disasters are beyond our control. In all such cases, Dev Yatra coordinates rescheduling to the best extent possible and keeps guests informed at every step.

Booking & Payment Terms

Advance Payment

A minimum 25–30% advance payment confirms your booking. This holds your preferred dates, hotel rooms and vehicle. Balance is due before departure. For Char Dham Yatra during peak season, higher advance may be required to secure limited slots.

Date Change Policy

Date changes requested 10+ days before departure are accommodated subject to availability without penalty. Date changes within 7 days of departure may incur a rescheduling fee. Last minute date changes during peak season may not be possible due to hotel and vehicle availability constraints.

Group Cancellations

For group bookings of 10+ people, special cancellation terms may apply as stated in your group booking agreement. Partial group cancellations (reduction in group size) may affect per-person pricing for remaining group members. Contact us to discuss specific group cancellation scenarios.

No-Show Policy

In case of no-show (failure to arrive for the tour without prior cancellation notice), the full advance amount is forfeited. Dev Yatra is not responsible for no-shows caused by the traveller's personal circumstances. Travel insurance may cover no-show losses — we strongly recommend purchasing it at the time of booking.

Why We Recommend Travel Insurance

Uttarakhand tours and Char Dham Yatra involve travel to high-altitude areas where weather, road conditions and natural events are unpredictable. Dev Yatra strongly recommends that all travellers purchase comprehensive travel insurance before departure to protect against unexpected cancellations, medical emergencies, trip interruptions and loss of personal belongings.

Travel insurance is particularly important for Kedarnath and high-altitude treks where helicopter evacuation may be required in medical emergencies. Standard health insurance policies often do not cover adventure activities or helicopter evacuation costs in remote areas. A comprehensive travel insurance policy bridges this gap.

Dev Yatra does not sell travel insurance directly but can provide guidance on suitable policies. We recommend purchasing insurance from reputable insurers at the time of booking.
