Terms & Conditions

By booking a tour with Dev Yatra , you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.

1. Booking & Payment

  • A minimum advance deposit of 25-50% of the total package cost is required to confirm a booking.
  • The remaining balance must be paid 7 days before departure or as specified at the time of booking.
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer, UPI, or cash. Confirmation will be provided after payment receipt.
  • Prices quoted are per person unless otherwise stated.

2. Inclusions & Exclusions

Each package clearly mentions what is included and excluded. Dev Yatra is not responsible for costs arising from items not mentioned in the inclusions list, including but not limited to:

  • Train, bus or flight tickets to the departure point (unless specified)
  • Pony, doli (palanquin), or porter charges
  • Personal expenses, laundry, tips
  • Medical expenses or hospitalization
  • Travel insurance (strongly recommended)

3. Itinerary Changes

  • Dev Yatra reserves the right to modify itineraries due to weather, road conditions, natural disasters, government orders, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • In such cases, we will provide the best alternative arrangements at no extra cost wherever possible.
  • No refund will be given for unused services due to client's own decision to skip any activity or sightseeing.

4. Health & Fitness

  • Clients with serious medical conditions must consult their doctor before booking high-altitude tours.
  • Dev Yatra is not liable for any health issues arising during the tour, including altitude sickness.
  • It is the client's responsibility to carry necessary medications and inform the guide of any health conditions.

5. Accommodation

  • Accommodation is provided at best-available hotels/dharamshalas. During peak season, exact hotels may be substituted with equivalent alternatives.
  • Room sharing (twin/triple) is standard unless a private/single room is specifically requested and paid for.

6. Liability

  • Dev Yatra acts as a travel agent/tour organizer and is not responsible for any loss, injury, damage, or additional expenses caused by accidents, illness, theft, or force majeure events.
  • We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and loss of belongings.

7. Conduct

Clients are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow travelers, guides, local communities, and religious sites. Dev Yatra reserves the right to remove any client from the tour for misconduct without refund.

Key Terms — Summary

Payment Terms

A minimum advance payment of 25–30% of the total package cost is required to confirm your booking. The balance is payable before the departure date. We accept UPI transfers (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), bank transfer and cash. Full payment is required at least 3 days before departure for all packages.

Inclusions & Exclusions

Package inclusions are clearly listed in the itinerary shared at the time of booking. Items not specifically mentioned as included are excluded. Lunch is generally excluded unless mentioned. Entry fees, personal expenses, tips, travel insurance, medical expenses, horse and doli charges, porter charges and air or train tickets are excluded from all packages unless explicitly stated.

Itinerary Changes

Dev Yatra reserves the right to alter itineraries due to weather conditions, road closures, government orders, natural disasters or any unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will arrange the best possible alternative. No refund is applicable for itinerary modifications made due to force majeure. We are not responsible for delays caused by natural factors beyond our control.

Liability

Dev Yatra acts as a tour organizer and is not liable for accidents, injuries, losses or damages of any nature occurring during the tour. We strongly recommend all travellers to purchase comprehensive travel insurance before departure. Dev Yatra is not responsible for loss of personal belongings, passport, cash or electronics during the tour.

Health & Medical

Travellers with serious health conditions including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or respiratory conditions must consult their doctor before booking high-altitude packages. Dev Yatra recommends a medical check-up before Char Dham Yatra and all treks above 3000 metres. We are not responsible for any medical emergencies that arise due to pre-existing conditions.

Behaviour & Conduct

All travellers are expected to behave respectfully at religious sites and towards local communities. Dev Yatra reserves the right to remove any traveller from a tour without refund in case of misconduct, substance abuse or violation of local laws. All travellers must carry valid government-issued photo ID throughout the journey.

Frequently Asked Questions — Terms

Q. What happens if a temple is closed during my tour?
Temple closures due to government orders, weather, natural disasters or religious observances are beyond Dev Yatra's control. In such cases we arrange the best possible alternative — alternative darshan arrangements, rescheduled visit or substitution with another attraction. No refund is payable for closures due to force majeure, however Dev Yatra will work to minimize inconvenience and make the best use of your remaining tour time.
Q. Is advance payment refundable if I change my mind?
Advance payment refunds are subject to our cancellation policy. Cancellations made 15+ days before departure receive 70% refund of advance. 7–14 days before departure: 50% refund. Less than 7 days: advance is forfeited. We strongly recommend booking travel insurance to cover cancellation costs. See our full Cancellation Policy for complete details. Note that hotel and transport advance payments made to third parties may have their own non-refundable policies.
Q. Do these terms apply to customized packages?
Yes, these terms and conditions apply to all Dev Yatra packages — standard packages, customized itineraries, group tours and corporate tours. Any specific terms agreed at the time of booking (such as special cancellation conditions for large groups) will be stated in your booking confirmation and will supplement, not replace, these general terms. For any clarification on terms, please contact us before making your booking.

General Terms

By booking any package with Dev Yatra, you agree to these terms and conditions in full. These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Dev Yatra for the services booked. Any verbal agreements or promises not documented in the written booking confirmation are not binding.

Dev Yatra reserves the right to substitute accommodation, vehicles or guides with equivalent alternatives when the originally planned service is unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control. All substitutions will be of equal or higher standard. You will be informed of any significant changes to your itinerary at the earliest opportunity.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India and the jurisdiction of courts in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Any disputes arising from our services shall first be attempted to be resolved through mutual discussion. In the absence of resolution, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of competent courts in Haridwar.
