Kedarnath at 3583m is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, accessible by a 19 km trek from Gaurikund. Badrinath at 3133m is drive-accessible and one of the 4 Char Dhams.

Itinerary

Day 1 Haridwar → Guptkashi

Drive via Devprayag, Rudraprayag. Overnight: Guptkashi

Day 2 Guptkashi → Kedarnath Trek

Drive to Gaurikund. Trek 19 km to Kedarnath. Evening aarti. Overnight: Kedarnath

Day 3 Kedarnath Darshan → Guptkashi

Early morning abhishek. Trek down. Rest. Overnight: Guptkashi

Day 4 Guptkashi → Badrinath (155 km)

Drive via Chamoli to Badrinath. Tapt Kund dip. Evening aarti. Overnight: Badrinath

Day 5 Badrinath Darshan · Mana Village

Full darshan. Mana village, Vyas Cave. Overnight: Badrinath

Day 6 Badrinath → Haridwar

Drive back to Haridwar.

Haridwar is 220 km from Delhi (~5 hrs), 310 km from Chandigarh. UPSRTC & Volvo buses operate daily from Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Chandigarh. Expressway makes road journey comfortable.

Q. What is the difference between Do Dham and Kedarnath-Badrinath package?

Both cover Kedarnath & Badrinath. The Do Dham package has a slightly shorter itinerary (5–6 days) while the Kedarnath-Badrinath package has 6 days with more rest days. The content and route are the same — choose based on your preference.

Q. Is Kedarnath trek mandatory?

The Kedarnath temple is accessible only by a 19 km trek from Gaurikund (or helicopter). Trekking is the traditional way; horses, mules, and palanquins are available for those who cannot trek. Helicopter is also available as an upgrade.

Q. Can I skip Kedarnath and only do Badrinath?

Yes! We offer customized itineraries. If you want only Badrinath, check our Ek Dham Yatra page. Badrinath is drive-accessible — no trekking required.

Q. What is Mana village?

Mana is the last Indian village before the Tibet border, just 3 km from Badrinath. It has Vyas Cave (where Mahabharata was written), Bhim Pul, Saraswati river confluence, and the Last Indian Tea Shop. We include Mana village in the Badrinath day itinerary.

Q. What happens if Kedarnath temple is closed due to weather?

In rare cases of temporary closure (heavy snowfall or NDMA advisory), we wait at Guptkashi and retry the next day. If trip is disrupted due to natural disaster, full rescheduling is offered. See our Cancellation Policy.
